Last night something wonderful happened to me. I went to a restaurant and there on the menu was bacon, sweet, simple, delicious bacon as an appetizer … and with peanut butter dipping sauce. At Leon’s Full Service in Atlanta, they serve their bacon in a glass, and its freaking delicious. The only way it could be better is if they started serving it by the bucket as an entree’. Kudos to Leon’s for serving bacon in its simplest form and cooked to perfection, both chewy and crispy all at the same time. I’ve eaten a lot of bacon in my 26 years, in fact, if the myth about each slice of bacon taking nine minutes off your life were true, I would have died in 1976. So trust me when I say this is some top-notch bacon, people. It comes from Benton Farms in Madisonville, Tennessee and its available to everyone! TGFS (thank God for Spanx). Here’s the link to the Benton Farms website where you can order all sorts of ham delectables for yourself or as presents for any bacon lover in your life, i.e. everyone!
Its just $24 for four one pound slabs of hickory smoked goodness. And speaking of bacon, here’s a few other bacon themed gift options that you really can’t go wrong with:
I gave my Dad a subscription to this Bacon-of-the-Month club for Father’s Day a few years back and boy was it a hit, granted he now takes Lipitor. For just $99, you, or your loved one, or you after you steal it from said loved one can receive over a pound of artisan bacon on your steps each month.
Can’t decide if you want savory or sweet? A box of chocolate covered bacon will do the trick. Also a great little extra to throw in a gift basket or as a stocking stuffer.
Just click, its painfully cute.
Sweet bacon dreams everyone.
